During the conversation with Craig we got into the discussion of magical realism that was depicted throughout the show. Then the episode Married came up. At the end of Married, Phoebe envisions Arnold and Helga looking out into a beautiful sunset. So I asked, “Was that just part of Phoebe’s day dream or does this actually happen?”
Craig nods and says: Yes. This is how it’s like when Arnold and Helga get married. Hey Arnold has this magical aspect where it makes viewers wonder ‘how does this happen? how does the character know?’ or ‘is this actually true?’ in this case it is.
Even though if it’s supposed to be Phoebe’s imagination, you notice it never fades back to her or anything!
Then he talked about writing a novel about a 40 year old Helga. (which I think he should do. yes.)
